Dedicating the Dream

Dedication is the key to victory and is what forges the path to success. Dedication is described as giving yourself whole-heartedly to something. Dedication is a commitment, a pledge, and totally binding yourself to something, becoming one with it. So the question remains what have you dedicated your life to? What have you dedicated your life dreams to? Because if you have not dedicated them to something, you need to understand something very clearly; you will not reach them!
By doing this we are not being dedicated to the cause we have been created for. Rather, we are procrastinating to the highest degree and are being slothful in what we have been called to do. We have become people pleasers instead of Father Pleasers. We love the praise of men rather than the praise of God as it says in John 12:43. We sit around and we wonder why sometimes why we are not living the ``dream`` life that lives inside of us. The answer is we have dedicated our life to people and they have used us to better their cause and have left us with nothing.
Why do we this? It's because we as a people love to be patted on the back. We are so selfish; that we only look to our own needs to be met. We would rather have instant gratification then receive the achievement of our dream. Why this is a fact of life is because most cannot deal with the pain the flesh must suffer, to achieve greatness.
But you`re a Christian! You`re different! You need to understand that whatever you do, whatever you do, you must not conform! You are changed and are to change the world! So don`t dedicate yourself to the world and it`s cause! Don`t look for a pat on the back, don`t get mad when you don`t get a thank-you and don`t ever expect someone to be there for you.
Because there is only one who will always be there for you and that is the Almighty God, your Father in heaven. No matter how much you think you mean to your wife, no matter how much you think you mean to your family or job, you mean a immeasurable amount more to the Father God. Things you do for Him mean more than the things you do for others, because they will be remembered for eternity. You have no legacy with God, rather you have a standing. You are either dedicated to His cause or you're not.
In everything you do you are to dedicate it to the one who matters most. That's why my Bible says in Colossians 3:23 that whatsoever I do, I am to do it heartily as to the Lord, and not unto men. Why? The answer is verse 24and 25:
24 Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ. 25 But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.
You can do the same job for two people, but one can pay you more. The Lord is not only able to give you the fullness of your dream, but He is more appreciative than the others that you "help out". Now, I am not saying to not help people. But, rather I wish that you would follow the Lord's plan for your life and dedicate it to Him.
Because if you don't, we clearly see that we reap the seed that we sow in our life, because there is no respecter of persons. So be dedicated, have some responsibility and be accountable to the Lord and His dream for your life. My Bible says that you were created by Him and for Him. Your life is not your own, you were brought with a price and you are to glorify God with your life.

Top-level comments on this article: (1 total)Wonderfully inspirational article. I loved it. You are absolutely right in all that you have said. The only importance in our lives is our family--our family in God. I had a dream and a goal to leave a legacy of my parents to my children and grandchildren. I acheived that goal, but only because God was with me to see me through. Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us. Sandra
